Are we going to be able to afford to hire a wedding planner?





I don’t think you’ll be able to afford NOT hiring a wedding planner. Couples find that my involvement in their wedding planning helps to actually save them money! The experience I bring to the table will provide you with money saving options, and I’ll help with making sure you don’t accrue additional fees throughout your wedding. I will also help to save you time and stress throughout the planning process and your wedding day, which, in my book, is worth more than money! ​



Many venues say that they have an in-house planner, so is a wedding planner the same or different?





Many venues will have an event manager on staff that will oversee the development of your contract with their venue and will often be present on the day of your wedding. But they will usually only oversee the internal operations of their venue and will just handle day-of issues. They are helpful when it comes to their venue, but the details of a wedding expand far beyond just the aspects of the venue. As you can see in the Wedding Planning Packages section of this website, there are many services that I’ll provide beyond what the venue’s planner or coordinator can deliver. ​



What kind planning do you offer? Logistical only or design as well?





Both! I’m a very organized and detail oriented person, so I will help to keep you on track. I’ll help you think through things you probably haven’t thought of and I’ll direct and oversee whatever you plan for your big day. I’m also very creative and artistic. I love design and DIY and can help bring your vision to life.


No matter what kind of planner you need, there will always be unexpected issues that arise on the wedding day. I will handle those unexpected issues for you so that you can enjoy one of the most important and special days of your lives. I have a variety of different packages available depending on what you want and need for your wedding. See the Wedding Services page for more information. ​



Do you offer different package options or is everything customized based on what we’re looking for?





I do offer different packages as a starting point for you as you’re determining what level of assistance you want and need. But every package that I create will be personalized to fit your needs. I offer Day of Wedding Coordinating where I oversee many logistics on the wedding day. I have 3 Full Service Wedding Planning packages, and these are my most popular packages. I also offer Single Wedding Consultation Sessions where I can help you with vendor recommendations or creating a budget. Will you handle every aspect of the planning or can we do some things on our own? In other words, what parts of the planning will we be responsible for?





You will be responsible for the things you want to be responsible for. There are some parts of wedding planning that only the couple can do (like choosing your bridal party, creating a guest list, etc.). Then there are some parts of wedding planning that are just more fun for the couple to do (like choosing the wedding dress, looking at venues, or tasting wedding cakes). I can assist you as you make these decisions, but I can be as involved or uninvolved as you want me to be. I’m proactive and hands-on, but you are always the one in charge and you will make all of the decisions. ​



How do you communicate with your couples throughout the planning process?





I communicate with my couples primarily through email. There are so many details and decisions that go into planning a wedding that it’s best if everything is written down and in a place that both you and I can refer back to. We’ll also have a designated number of face-to-face meetings that we will have during the planning process. The frequency of face-to-face meetings increases with the type of package you have. In the last month before your wedding, I will be available to you via phone or text, in addition to emails and face-to-face meetings. ​

After we determine our budget, will you help us with creating a breakdown of how the money should be allocated?





Yes, and this is actually one of the most important things that I will do with you! I have a great tool that we will use to make sure that we are on the same page financially. I know that you have visions and dreams of what you want your wedding to be. I want to help make those dreams a reality, and the reality is that it takes money. I will help you determine how your money will be allocated and I will help you stick with that budget throughout the entire planning process. ​



How do you charge for your services? Hourly, percentage of the wedding cost, or flat rate?





How I charge depends on what service you’re utilizing. For all of my packages, there’s a starting rate and the total cost will depend on what all you decide to have included in your package. I don't like to charge hourly because I don't want you to stress about keeping track of how often you're utilizing me and my services- you have enough to keep track of! Although, if you only hire me for a Single Wedding Consultation Session, then I will charge by the hour.



ARE WE REQUIRED TO BOOK ONLY THE VENDORS YOU RECOMMEND OR DO WE HAVE THE FREEDOM TO HIRE SOMEONE EVEN IF YOU HAVEN’T WORKED WITH THEM BEFORE?





You have the freedom to choose any vendors that you want for your wedding day. I can provide you with a list of recommended vendors, but that’s not a requirement. I do ask that you consult with me on each of your vendor selections before you sign a contract, so that I can assist you with getting everything you need from your vendors. ​



WILL YOU BE PRESENT AT ALL OF THE VENDOR MEETINGS? WILL YOU ASSIST US IN REVIEWING ALL OF THE VENDOR CONTRACTS TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS IN ORDER?





I can be present at some or all of the vendor meetings if you would like. This service would be a part of some of the Full Service Wedding Planning packages. However, I will review all vendor contracts for any package that you purchase. ​

IS THE WEDDING CEREMONY REHEARSAL INCLUDED IN YOUR SERVICES?





Yes, directing the ceremony rehearsal is included in all of my packages. That’s often the nuts and bolts of the day. The level of involvement in creating the ceremony is dependent on what package you want. ​



DO ANY OF YOUR PACKAGES INCLUDE HONEYMOON PLANNING?





No, I have not added “travel agent” to my list of services- at least not yet! I do have recommendations that I can provide if you would like, as well as great travel agents that I can send you to. I would of course do whatever I could to help you make that decision.



ONCE WE BOOK WITH YOU, HOW QUICKLY CAN WE EXPECT TO RECEIVE THE CONTRACT?





You can expect to receive a contract within two business days. When we meet for a Complimentary Initial Consultation, we will discuss your wedding and what all you would want from a wedding planner. I will help you to determine what package will best fit your needs, but I will then personalize that package specifically to what you want so that all of these details can be included in your contract. ​



do you ever help with BEAUTY for the bride, bridal party, or family?





I am not a licensed cosmetologist, but I love doing these things for weddings! I have done hair, makeup, and nails for many brides, bridesmaids, and their family members. If this is something that you're interested in, then we can add this to your wedding package or this is in individual service I can provide. ​



WILL YOU BE THE PERSON ON SITE THE DAY OF OUR WEDDING OR WILL IT BE ANOTHER PLANNER?





I will be the person you'll be working with throughout the planning process and I will be the one present on site for your wedding. I do have assistants that I can and will use on the wedding day when needed. ​



IF OUR EVENT IS OUTDOORS, WILL YOU WANT US TO HAVE A CONTINGENCY PLAN FOR BAD WEATHER?





Yes, I will most definitely want to help you create a contingency plan. Of course, we will hope for wonderful weather on your wedding day, but I will work with you to have a plan B. We'll work together to come up with a great alternative that will still align with what you envision for your wedding. Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst!​

CAN YOU PROVIDE A DETAILED LIST OF ALL THE ITEMS INCLUDED IN YOUR FEE?





Yes. We will discuss options of services at the Initial Consultation Meeting, and this list will be included in your contract.



FOR THE VENDORS WHO WILL BE ON SITE THE DAY OF OUR WEDDING, CAN I PROVIDE YOU WITH the FINAL PAYMENTs SO THAT YOU CAN DISTRIBUTE IT TO THEM?





Yes, this is something that I always recommend couples do. Handling money and distributing final payments is the last thing you should have to do on your wedding day. ​​



How much of a deposit is required to book your services?





I have a $200 retainer fee that you will pay in order to reserve your wedding date on my calendar. ​

I’m really interested in hiring you as my wedding planner, so what do I do now?





I’d love to talk with you and meet you! During our meeting, we will discuss where you are in your wedding planning and what you need from a wedding planner. At the end of that meeting you can decide if you think I’m the best fit for you and your wedding. If so, then we’ll move forward with creating a contract and moving forward with planning the wedding of your dreams!​
